Chevy Chase Trust Employees Raise Funds for Best Buddies Maryland

On May 7, employees from Chevy Chase Trust came together at the University of Maryland, College Park with over 500 other people to support Best Buddies of Maryland in the 2011 Best Buddies Friendship Walk. The Walk, held annually, raises funds to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in leading full and productive lives.

The 2011 Walk was chaired by Terri Klatzkin of Clark Enterprises and Cheryl Alexander along with Honorary Chairman and first-year Maryland head football coach Randy Edsall.

“We are so thrilled that the community has made such a grand statement in support of our mission,” said Best Buddies Maryland State Director Vince Fiduccia. “Coach Edsall’s presence and the work of our event committee, staff and supporters give hope and awareness to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”

This year’s walk was the most successful in history, with more than $82,000 raised – an incredible 45% more than last year’s record setting amount! The Chevy Chase Trust Happy Campers Team was proud to be among the top fundraising teams. We are honored that our own Hanna Ambrogi has been invited to serve on the Best Buddies Maryland Walk Committee for 2012. Congratulations to Hanna and the rest of the Happy Campers, and thank you to everyone who contributed to their fundraising effort!
