Chevy Chase Trust Supports JCRC’s Annual Gala
Chevy Chase Trust was proud to sponsor the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington’s 2019 Annual Gala on Wednesday, June 5. The JCRC’s mission is to work within four pillars – government relations, Israel advocacy, inter-group relations, and social justice—to advocate for Jewish institutions and values, educate the community on issues of concern, and work with neighbors to build a better world.
Steve and Tal Widdes received the Distinguished Service Award for their work with groups advocating for Jewish causes and fighting antisemitism. Tal is the COO for the Jewish Social Services Agency, and has served on the board of the JCRC, and Steve has volunteered on boards and committees of several area Jewish organizations.
Erwin Groner received the Breslau-Goldman Award, and Wendi and Daniel Abramowitz received the Community Leadership Award. Two teen boys were also celebrated for their work in promoting interfaith dialogue with Student to Student peer education.
The event took place at Congregation Har Shalom in Potomac, MD, and Jeff Dillman of Chevy Chase Trust attended with more than 500 other guests.
